SalvageSale, Inc. is committed to respecting your privacy. We take every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit information via our site, your information is protected both online and off-line. What information does SalvageSale collect?

This Web site does not collect personally identifying information about users except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. To use our services fully, you will need to register using our online registration form, where you will be required to provide us with your contact information and other personal information as described therein. For buyers, we will also ask for other information such as your billing address in order to process on-line transactions. For sellers, the information we collect will include information relating to the item you desire to post for sale and related identifying information.

SalvageSale also collects generic information using IP addresses that do not identify users directly. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Web site, analyze trends, track users’ movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

How does SalvageSale use my personal information?

We use personally identifiable information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze site usage statistically, to improve our content and product offerings and to customize our site’s content, layout, and services. We believe these uses allow us to improve our site and tailor it to meet our users’ needs better.

We may also use your information to deliver information to you that, in some cases, is targeted to your interests, such as targeted banners, new services and promotions. By accepting the Terms and Conditions you expressly agree to receive this information. We also use your email address, your mailing address, and phone number to contact you regarding administrative notices, new product offerings, and communications relevant to your use of our site. If you choose to conduct an auction on our site, we will use your address and billing information to bill you and provide associated support.

How may you use other’s information?

SalvageSale and our users do not tolerate spam. Therefore, you are not licensed to add a SalvageSale user, even a user who has purchased an item from you, to your mail list (email or physical mail) without their express consent after adequate disclosure.

How does SalvageSale protect account information?

We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your account information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

Opting Out of Providing User Information

Our users are given the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their information used for purposes not directly related to the purchase of services or products using this site. Our registration form has an opt-out provision, which allows the user to select that the information not be provided to any companies other than SalvageSale. Likewise, we allow buyers and sellers to opt out and thereby prevent us from sharing that information with any other person other than the person with whom the user is buying or selling an item.

Users who no longer wish to receive promotional or other informational material from us may also opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at customercare@salvagesale.com.

Reviewing and revising your account information.

At any time, you can view, update and/or remove your account information by following the appropriate link on our home page, www.SalvageSale.com.

Residual information may remain in our archives and records, but this information will not be used for any commercial purpose. We reserve the right to maintain information on registered members who have violated our Terms and Conditions or who have had their access to SalvageSale blocked.

Anything else I should know about privacy issues?

Our site contains links to other Web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another Web site for which SalvageSale has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.

Changes to this Privacy Policy.

SalvageSale reserves the right at any time and without notice to add to, change, modify or update this Privacy Policy simply by posting such change, update or modification on our site. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting to the site.
